As a unique end to Year 11 Certificate II Construction students’ last day of training, the Rosewater Trade Training Centre (RTTC) hosted the Career Education Strategy Workshop facilitated by Foundation For Young Australians.  The RTTC was one of 10 education facilities around Australia selected to co-design a resource.  RTTC students were well engaged and the facilitators were extremely pleased at the feedback and collaboration throughout the workshop.

Among the aims of the workshop for both students and VET Leaders/Teachers were assisting them to:

  • Have an understanding of pre-existing successful careers education programs, tools and strategies
  • Have an understanding of which roles and individuals lead careers education in schools
  • Have an understanding of pre-existing successful school and industry partnerships
  • Have an understanding of what tools would help young people when planning their careers
  • Have an understanding of what tools are viable  for educators to deliver careers education
  • Have an understanding of the ways that a resource is best distributed to educators and students
  • Have an understanding of industry appetite for a careers education resource
